Hiking in the holiday region Weissensee

At Bio-Vitalhotel Weissenseerhof in the Weissensee nature park in Carinthia, we have the perfect combination: hiking and swimming in one vacation.

You can go on hikes on your own whenever you want, out across the valley floor or up to scenic altitudes, participate in guided hikes, or take enjoyable walks with the children on one of the many theme paths: ask about our hiking map or simply tell us which specific route you would like to take!

On 200 km of marked hiking paths, you can explore the Gailtal Alps and enjoy the numerous staffed huts with their Austrian charm and distinctive cuisine. From walks on flat footpaths around the pristine nature of the Weissensee to physically demanding climbs up rugged peaks, there is something here for every hiker.

Many hiking paths start right from the communities along the shores of the Weissensee. They gently rise from an elevation of 930 m up to 2300 m and offer impressive views of the lake and Alps.

Bio-Vitalhotel Weissenseerhof is the ideal access point to the hiking paradise of Weissensee. From here, you can hike along scenic switchbacks up to the Weiße Wand, an impressive limestone formation, and just a little further along, you will reach the romantic “Alm hinterm Brunn”. After a pleasant rest stop, we recommend a climb to the Ronacher Fels above the Weissensee. Here in a quiet, tranquil atmosphere, you can enjoy a view over the vast surface of the lake.
